Thando Fuze | KZN
Thando Fuze is a poet, writer, art events curator and most recently, author of Conversations with The Human. Born and bred in KZN, Fuze is still based in South Africa’s playground, Durban. This modern contemporary poet started writing in 2002 after watching what magic The Feela Sistas could do with words. Fuze only joined other creatives and found courage to share her own writings in 2006 at Poetry Society, the biggest poetry session in KZN. She has since performed on small and big stages around KZN and outside the province.
Fuze has shared her poetry at Poetry Africa (KZN, 2015), Essence Festival (KZN, 2016/17), Polokwane Literary Fair (LP, 2017), Annual AIDS Conference (KZN, 2016/17), Poetic Blues (FS, 2016), Poetry Is Alive (LSO, 2013) and Poetry In Motion(JHB,2013) to name a few. Fuze’s poetry has also been heard on a number of radio stations namely; Highway radio, DYR, Gagasi99.5, ECR, PowerFM and BBC radio London.
In 2015 Botsotso published a collective anthology titled Home Is Where The Mic Is in which some of Fuze’s poetry was featured alongside 23 other poets from across the globe. She’s twice been nominated at the Original Material Awards for Best Female Performer. Thando Fuze is currently part of Poetry Collective called The Reading Room.
